The Traffic Unit is responsible for providing professional traffic safety services within the Township of Robbinsville.
These efforts are accomplished through education, cutting edge technology and enforcement. One of the top priorities of our agency is to reduce incidents of impaired and dangerous driving. To do this, we are seeking to alter certain driving behaviors and guide individuals toward making better decisions. These changes require time and a sustained effort, however the RTPD believes combining education and an unwavering enforcement effort will hold more drivers accountable and will ultimately result in the agency reaching its ultimate goal of safety and saving lives.
Some of the other duties of the Traffic Unit include:
- Investigation of all serious/fatal motor vehicle crashes
- Fleet maintenance
- Traffic control signage and roadway striping
- Work and school zone safety
- Site plan reviews
- Parking enforcement
- Grant management
- Funeral escorts
- Crossing guard posts at our schools
