The Robbinsville Township Police Department Youth Police Academy is a program designed to provide its participants with firsthand knowledge of the duties and responsibilities that are required of a Robbinsville Township Police Officer.
The Youth Police Academy will involve physical fitness, hands on practical exercises, classroom activities, and police demonstrations. Some of the topics that will be covered include crime scene investigation, arrest procedures, motor vehicle stops, fire safety, defensive tactics, basic first aid, and much more.
This program will help to build self-confidence and discipline while strengthening the bond between our officers and the youth in our community.
The Youth Police Academy will be open to any student that will be entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in September of 2025. The Youth Police Academy runs from June 23 to June 27, 2025, with daily sessions from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The only exception is on June 26, which will run from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM due to a special class trip planned that day!
To attend the Youth Police Academy, you must complete the registration application and submit an essay, no longer than one page, stating why you would like to attend the Youth Police Academy.
Completed registration application and essay must be returned to the Robbinsville Township Police Station (Attention: Lt. Thomas Egan) no later than March 31, 2025.
Participants who attend will be given a t-shirt and hat, which they will need to wear on a daily basis. Those who attend will also need to bring a packed lunch and water bottle Monday through Thursday (The Robbinsville PBA Local #344 will provide lunch on Friday).
On Friday there will be a graduation ceremony which family and friends are invited to attend.

ELIGIBILITY: Any student entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in September 2025.
