Non-Emergency 609-259-3900The K9 Unit of the Robbinsville Township Police Department currently has five canines covering a variety of special skills through their senses to supplement officers with investigations.
Our canines specialize in explosives detection, narcotics detection, criminal, missing person tracking searches and community policing. The strong olfactory senses of a canine give the police department an incredible tool to keep our community safe. Each canine team goes through an initial state certification process that ensures that they are competent in their abilities.
Additionally, all canine teams train and certify on a regular basis to hone those skills and remain effective in their duties.
K9 Rigo is a black Labrador Retriever, assigned to Patrolman Edward Vincent, our School Resource Officer, at Robbinsville High School. K9 Rigo is trained and certified to detect explosive materials, in addition to tracking missing subjects and article search.
K9 Corbin is a yellow Labrador Retriever, assigned to Lt. Scott Kivet. K9 Corbin is trained and certified in Narcotic Scent Detection.
K9 Rudy is a one-year-old German Shepard. He was born in Eastern Europe and imported to Indiana where he was united with his handler, Patrolman Ryan Meehan. K9 Rudy is trained in narcotics detection. He enjoys treats and playing with his toys.
K9 ACE is a two-year-old German Shepherd/Malinois mix who grew up in North Carolina and is now assigned to Patrolman Matthew Hill. Together, they attended the New Jersey State Police Canine Training Academy where they received certification through Tracking Class #3. K9 ACE is a tracking specialist that will be used to locate missing or escaped persons. K9 ACE was named to honor the legacy of Patrolman Craig Robinson, Badge #14. Craig proudly served our community from 1991 to 2000. Craig’s life was tragically cut short on August 9, 2000, in a mid-air collision with another plane while working as a part-time flight instructor.
K9 Quori is a Labrador Retriever born on June 26, 2015. K9 Quori was named in Honor of 9/11 victim Marianne Liquori. K9 Quori and K-9 Hander, Lieutenant Scott Kivet, were trained as a Narcotics Detection Team through University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Medicine (Penn Vet Working Dog). K9 Quori is currently assigned to Community Policing, where he enjoys conducting demos for the schools and the community.
